This faithfully designed DC Comics: Batman - Limited Edition Deluxe Sculpture features the celebrated art style of Alex Ross in an extremely detailed 1:6 scale statue.

Based on the highly popular splash page from the graphic novel Batman: War on Crime , Batman keeps a watchful eye on Gotham City. The DC Designer Series Batman by Alex Ross Deluxe Sculpture is an individually numbered limited edition of 5,000 pieces that measures slightly under 14-inches tall. DC Designer Series sculptures are based on art from the comics industrys top creators and recreates their vision in vivid 3D detail.

In creating this Batman, Ross was inspired for his take by early iterations of the character. In order to honor the original appeal of the Batman, Ross opted to remove Batmans vehicles and advanced gadgetry and to have him just appear on the scene. At the time, the release of Batman & Robin had created a very different visual of Batman in the public eye and Ross was seeking to evoke a much darker, even scarier, vision of The Dark Knight while keeping the characters honest sense of justice and righteousness.

For the mask, Ross came up with a concept of having the mask act as a second skin for the character by having the eyeholes cut right above and below the eyelids, giving the mask a human presence, allowing it to become the face of the character. Limited to: 5000 Numbered Pieces.
