WHAT FOLLOWS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING SPECIFIC in this listing. When it comes to character related, figural collectables, it doesn't get any better than these. These amazingly detailed statues are cold cast porcelain, Batman is 9" tall and Joker is 8.5" tall. Sculpted and hand-painted by Kent Melton - we remember seeing them in the Warner Bros catalog handout given to us in line at the premier screening of the 1989 movie. The facial details are amazing - you can see Michael Keaton's lips and chin peaking out of the Batman cowl and Jack Nicholson is all over that Joker smirk.

We had to have a set - and immediately began an extensive search to get a pair. It took a couple of years but we obtained one through connections in the Los Angeles area. It's amazing to think there are only 50 of them.

But that number isn't quite true. Mr Melton did produce some artist proofs prior to the numbered statues. These proof statues do NOT sport the hand signature by Kent nor the sets numbering - as they were never meant for sale to the public. L & L Collectables is a small, family run business.
