Of Special Interest to collectors, is that the base of the figure has been signed by Michael Doulton, on 4th august 1990. Born in 1542, in West Lothian, Mary Stuart was the only child of. James V of Scotland and Mary of Guise. She became Queen of Scotland and claimant to the English throne at six days old. At 17, she became Queen of France having married the Dauphin, Francis II.

In a period of extreme political. Mary had a highly eventful, turbulent life, ending with her execution at Fotheringhay in 1587. The figurine depicts a pensive Mary, in a beautiful full length dress, with elaborate underskirt, wearing a gold crucifix and chain, holding an open bible in her left hand.
